A very brief history of my life

I am Diane, AKA The Daydreamdiver. I spent my childhood traveling Europe with my family before coming back to my island, Corsica in my early teens. I used to go fishing, snorkeling or just swimming with a group of friends. One day, I donned a scuba tank, jumped from the boat and followed one of them. I felt home.

A solitary person, I used to spend hours walking on the shore or in the Corsican “maquis”. I didn’t feel that I belonged anywhere and Nature gave me peace. I needed to spend increasingly more time underwater which lead me to take a decision that would soon become my way of life.

Against all advice from friends and family, I became a diving instructor.

Three years passed before I could finally complete my CMAS instructor level, between sporadic visits to the university and various jobs, from Art gallery receptionist to fisherm-woman to restaurant barker. My motivation was unabated.

One month after I received my diploma I landed in Martinique. I had seen many places but had never traveled so far. GO for the Club Med, I learned  a lot about people but also about myself. It was a challenging and fabulous experience that helped me define more precisely what I wanted my life to be.

From the Caribbeans to the Fiji Islands, I have explored both the terrestrial and underwater sides of fantastic places. When I am not in the water, you will find me walking across countries , looking for all types of treasures or hiking mountain peaks. However the most enriching experiences have always come from my encounters with people from various cultures and background.
